Museum Events
The Yesteryear Museum hosts several events throughout the year.
In July, we welcome the public to our annual Wheat Harvest Day. We feature horse-drawn wheat binding, steam powered threshing and, best of all, you can participate in the threshing just as a harvest crew member from the early 1900's.
Our annual Exploring Yesterday For Youth is held on the second Friday of October every year. It is an open invitation to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade school children and their educators. Volunteers of the Museum set up stations at which students participate in hands-on demonstrations learning techniques used by our pioneer ancestors. Cow milking, rope making, corn shelling, sawmill demonstrations, wheat weaving, lesson planning in our one-room schoolhouse and learning camping techniques in our Chuck Wagon are some of the activities we offer.
The day after, the second Saturday of October is our annual Antique Engine and Steam Show with a Traditional Tractor Pull. Demonstrations, exhibitors and vendors for all ages are featured. We have historic re-enactments, an 1860's steam powered sawmill, small engines, tractor games, agricultural demonstrations, music, broom making, wheat weaving, childrens games and activities and much more. We invite the public to attend a fun and interactive event for the entrie family.
Should you wish to participate in our annual show, please send your request along with any questions you may have on our Contact Us page.
The four weekends prior to Christmas, we feature a drive through Christmas Light Show. The Museum grounds are illuminated with lights and displays to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. Check us out!
